So this was as awesome as the games were. It pretty much followed the same story, but it was still great fun to see it in this form.A little warning though, the same as the games, if you can't handle gore, then don't read this one. It is pretty much on par with Higurashi goreness.
So be warned! This release combines the first 2 volumes of the series, the same they did with Higurashi. It starts off with our group of MCs doing horror stories while at school late, when they decide (with a teacher) So this was as awesome as the games were. Welcome to Tenjin Elementary School. A school full of death, horror, blood, pain. The characters are split up, either alone, or in groups.I don't know what I would rather have, experiencing the horror with my friends, or being alone. I think considering the games the school is playing, I would rather be alone. I still remember what happens in the games, and at times it is just better to be alone. To not be so scared that you will cause your friends grief, or to be possessed (as that can also happen) and hurt your friends. On the one hand, I can also imagine having a friend might help out.
I present this manga 'Corpse Party: Bloodcovered' the best horror, gruesome manga there is. Just to warn you, this is basically a japanese comic, so there are. Read Magi, Onepunchman, Onepanman Onepunch-Man, Naruto, Boruto, Fairy Tail, One Piece, Tokyo Ghoul:re, Attack on Titan, Shingeki no Kyojin, Shokugeki.
You are both going through the same thing. And two heads is better than one.The first couple is Naomi and Seiko. They are best friends, though Seiko wishes there would be more between them. She is constantly drooling over Naomi, while Naomi is not seeing Seiko as more than just a good friend. She has a boyfriend (who is also somewhere, in some dimension, in this school).
I still remember Naomi's and Seiko's parts in the game, it was heartbreaking, and it was the same feeling I had with the manga. I won't spoil anything, but dear lord.:( My heart broke all over again. As the girls make their way through the school we see them find all sorts of hints to where they are, and what happened here.
There are also various corpses, spirits, and tricks that the school keeps playing on them (the random earthquakes). You never know what is creeping up on you in this school. You won't be safe anywhere. And you can really feel that feeling while reading. The last part of the volume is about another group. The teacher, and 2 others from the class. However most of the last part is all about the teacher and what happens to her.:( I guess in the next volume we will see the other 2 again, or maybe other kids. What more? Mm, well I can't wait to see how the story will go on, and to see if there are some differences between this and the game (of course there are as the game features many choices that can change a few things here and there). The art is amazing, and I really liked it.
The artist is also able to capture the expressions of horror, fear, and terror perfectly right.I will definitely buy Volume 2 of this soon as I want to read it further.Review first posted at. Do you enjoy reading, watching, or even listening to ghost storys? Especially the really scary, gruesome ones? I do, I love horror, gruesome, disturbing stuff.

So if you get distrubed easily, I wouldn't recomend this book to you. Yet, if you are an all lover manga fan, no matter what genre it is, you will love this book. For real, this book is super cool, and super graphic. The main reason why this manga's title is 'Corpse Party: Bloodcovered' is because there are actual human corpse in there, and a lot of blood. If you read the book then you'll understand why there's corpse everywhere, but I won't give it away today! The picture, yeah it seems a little inappropiate but it has nothing to do with what you might be thinking of.
The two girls are best friends that end up becoming victums with their fellow classmates. How did they become victums? Let's just say that they did something very stupid, and don't know how to deal with it. After they do that, they get themselves in situations that can cost them their lives. Not everyone is together, but some are lucky to be with at least one person. All of them eventally meet spirts, some are good and some are bad.
Who ever got to meet the bad spirt always had a hard time getting away from that spirt. If they did get it away they were lucky. Or they just got killed instead. On top on meeting spirts and ghost, the kids are freaked out by seeing a bunch of corpse lying around everywhere.
Anyway, these kids have to face demons or spirts to survive. Would you face them, or would you just let them kill you? The thing is, you can never be alone in those situations. That is what I learned after reading that manga.
You get more ideas, and you can survive bad situations easier. Plus, you can fail together, or I should say. Die together. The setting of this manga is important to the theme because it actually gives us an idea of what type of bad situation I'm talking about. Dark hallways, three floors, outside that leads to the woods, and closed dimensions.
For example, this quote was from the manga, 'Yes. If you figure out how to cross dimensions, you won't be able to escape.' You see how that kind of supports the setting.
What that person was saying, was dark. To support the setting and the theme even more, I'm going to share one of my favorite quotes from this manga. 'You're lucky just to exist in the same demension.
Two heads are better than one- You come up with more ideas.' You have a better chance at surviving things with more than one person. It made me not want to go anywhere by myself now. If you read the manga you'll really understand why.My favortie part of this manga is when one of them actually looses their life. I know, why should I even like that part, it's so dark!
I have to admit that it is but I like what happens. So this classmate ends up by herself and she get invloved with some bad spirt. When one of her friends finds her, she's half dead already. Her friend tried to save her but it was impossible for her to do that. Especially when there both panicking.
What I like about this part is, the dying girl's last words. She says to her friend, 'I love you.' This part made me cry because I can realte to that character. I love one of my closest friends like that too. If I were dying right before her eyes I would say I love her, I even say it to her sometimes. It made me realate to that dying girl so much and it's the reason why I love that part.
Not because she's dying, because of her last words to her closest friend.Automatically, this manga is rated 5 stars. The suspense, gruesome, friendship, and even stupidy from the characters made me love this manga. Especially the male characters! They were very attractive, even if they were cartoons. This manga is also an anime, I've seen it before.
Trust me if you read the manga first and you know you couldn't handle it, you won't sit there and watch the anime. You wouldn't even consider watching it. But, if you've seen the anime first, then you know that you can read the manga. I saw the anime first, I could not sleep at night. I had to watch it in the morning so I can forget about it the whole day. It's the reason why I fell in love with the anime and the manga.
The suspence, drama, and gore, and so much more. I experience new emotions that couldn't let me sleep!
If you're an all time horror anime lover, this is your book. This manga is as adorable as it is gruesome. Whats starts out as a cute tale about friendship turns into a murder/ survive the night type situation as a group of friends finds themselves separated and transported to a haunted school. While reading this haunted thriller you'll find yourselves asking questions a mile a minute trying to unravel the conundrum these pitiful children find themselves in. Corpse Party is as graphic and gory as it sounds. It follows a typical spooky, haunted house sort of plot, only it takes place in an elementary school.
I finished this in one sitting and loved it. The story was so fast paced and it definitely handled suspense well. I felt like there was going to be some creepy thing around every corner. If you can't handle violence and gruesome scenes, I would advise to steer clear. I am familiar with the game and anime, but this first volume covered exactly up to the point I stopped in the game.I am very sad about the death of Seiko, and I feel as if killing Naomi would have made more sense. I am also worried that they killed the Sensei, although I don't think they would do that.Although there are some weird aspects and parts to Book 3 of the 2017 Summer Biannual Bibliothon. It is great to see this game series in such a well designed book series. The art is good and the dialogue of this series continues to be some of the best. The tention of the book can be off kilter sometimes and some of the game's scariest moments leaving you wanting in book form, but overall the books are still creepy. The original game released in the 1990's and continues to beguile audiences in any iteration it takes. I suggest picking up the game and then this book series as soon Fantastic! A bunch of kids are transported to a haunted school and killed one by one.
For literal shits and giggles.I read through this first volume without knowing it was adapted from a videogame, and once I found that out it explained a lot of the mean-spirited treatment of the two-dimensional characters. As others have pointed out here, there is some gratuitous fan service that annoys more than titillates. The art isn't that great, with the female characters being almost indistinguishable except for A bunch of kids are transported to a haunted school and killed one by one.

The art isn't that great, with the female characters being almost indistinguishable except for slightly different hairstyles. The story gets a minor boost in the second volume when it twists around to briefly revisit story elements from the first volume from another angle, but I don't think it will be enough to justify me seeking out a third volume of this pointless gore and gloom.
